Volunteering
The Mpora Rural Family Home welcomes people who are able to volunteer their skills, knowledge or experience with the aim of both enhancing the experiences of the children benefiting form the child sponsorship programme and help the development of a self sustaining community project.
Opportunities to volunteer:
Stay for a few days and:
- Take a study lesson in the community library
- Play a game or sport's activity with the children
- Teach the children a song from your home country
Stay for a week or two to:
- Develop a new eco tourism opportunity
- Undertake a school art project to decorate the walls of the school
- Share new agricultural and farming techniques
Stay longer and:
- Teach an aspect of the curriculum at the primary or secondary school
- Develop the community library as a mobile library to reach children in rural parts of the district
- Develop and implement a new sustainable farming or agricultural project
Help from afar to:
- Develop promotional materials and opportunities to generate more visitors and supporters
- Investigate benefits that social networking sites might have for Mpora Rural Family Home
- Raise funds to support the child sponsporship programme and other projects.
